It’s 8.19pm right now. The UK has entered a second lockdown until 2 December. People don’t seem as negative as when the first lockdown occurred, probably because they’re used to it by now. I personally haven’t been a fan of it one bit, for many reasons – but, despite this I have a lot to be thankful for. I have a roof over my head, food on my plate, good friends and family, which many don’t have.

Moving on, during this time it’s very easy to complain, become frustrated and generally lose our cool. It’s easy to feel trapped and it’s easy to feel cheated. That’s why it’s even more important to monitor how you are feeling, and why you feel the way you do.

What are you doing to monitor your mental health going into this lockdown?

Some of the things I’m doing include home gym sessions, writing in a journal, studying, listening to motivational videos and writing lyrics.

All of these things work to distract my mind away from the negative and unproductive – and it seems to be working.

As the old saying goes ‘an idle mind is the devils workshop’.

So, I’m challenging you to come up with 5 things you can do during this lockdown to keep you focused, aligned and ready to smash your goals as soon as this mess is over. Let’s do it – and I’ll end with a short poem about lockdown which resonated with me.

  1. Blogging has really kept me focused through this lockdown. I started in the summer and its been the best distraction and a safe place to share whatever is on my mind 😌
